Ipsy May 2016 Glambag Unboxing
8:00 AM
I have been following Michelle Phan on youtube since I was about 15. I remember watching one of her tutorials and doing my makeup for my seventeenth birthday party, and looking *BOMB* thanks to Michelle. I was reluctant to try ipsy for a long time, mostly because it just seemed too good to be true. After finding out a friend of mine had pretty much exclusively been using products she received in her glambag for her makeup, I decided to give it a shot. That was only back in November of 2015! Now I am hooked! I love getting surprise beauty products in the mail! If you didn't already know, glambags come in bright pink reflective bubble mailers, so when you open your mailbox there's a shiny pink present from yourself to yourself.
1. Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Caribbean Sun Bronzer Duo
I was planning on getting an orange-based blush next time I went shopping but the ipsy stylists are good at anticipating needs, with summer nearly here! This will be perfect for trying Karen O's faux freckle tutorial.
2. Crazy Rumors HibisKiss Natural Lip Color in Coral
I put this on immediately after opening the glambag- it just smelled so good! The packaging is very nice also, the label is really smooth and seems purse-proof, which is my main complaint about most lip balms. This gave me a nice subtle color that is perfect for a minimalist look, or just keeping in your purse for a quick and easy sweep of color.
3. Vera Mona Eye Smudger Brush
I love getting brushes in my glambag. This one seems high quality and super soft. I don't have much to say about a smudger brush but if I have awesome results after testing it out, I will be sure to let you know!
4. Aurora Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in Safety Orange
Another one of the reasons I think ipsy is a good idea is because it forces me to try products I probably never would have otherwise. This nail polish is so bright in the bottle, it just screams at you. SAFETY orange- it is meant to catch your eye. I probably would never have chosen such a bold color. With all that being said, having tried this nail polish, I really like it. Ipsy claims that this product is like a gel mani without the UV lamp, and so far it has been 24 hours with no chips, which is close to a miracle for me.
5. IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Mini Gel Eyeliner
Have you ever tried ipsy? Do you use a different beauty subscription service? Let me know in the comments!
